I spotted this sparrowhawkquite contently standing down the side of our garden shed between it and the laurel hedge. With a few feathers at its feet, it had been busy with a pigeon earlier. It seemed unfazed by me photographing although I had kept my distance as there was no easy direct way out for the bird. No bait, Aug2015,Welwyn Garden City
Proof that even the mundane and common birds can look good in some nice light and I was just amused by the outcome of the image looking like the pigeon is whispering a secret - perhaps where our fruit berries are! No Bait. Taken Apr 23. Welwyn Garden City at home. No scientific interest
This sparrowhawk was oblivious to us moving around the house or being in the lounge looking out on to the patio where it had decided it was going to enjoy a pigeon breakfast. Sitting happily between our hosepipe (which was later required to clean the patio!) even the dogs inside didn't put the sparrowhawk off its meal. The image was taken through double glazing patio doors. Sept 2020. Welwyn Garden City home. No bait.
